A Distant Place and Time

 My Art Works:

For many years I have been fascinated with, and studied, the world-wide primal expressions of Mankind.  Especially those expressions and creative works which attempt to describe the spiritual aspect of the human experience.  Through textual investigations as well as travel to various countries in the Near East, Europe, Central America and North America I have familiarized myself with the spiritual and artistic expressions from tribal cultures and early civilizations.  Generally speaking, my art works are an attempt to combine various culture's visual forms into a more universal but simple spiritual expression.  

Since retiring from teaching, I have been involved in creating works of art that are an eclectic collection of expressions from fantasy to semi-realistic.  These works I have been actively taking to and making available to the general public mostly in rural venues.  In the last few years my philosophy has radically changed from that of a college-level art instructor and now I hold that if art is not for the people, than the artist is only fulfilling part of their social function - Enjoy
